Just point your browser (or modify your bookmark) to smile.amazon.com, then choose a charity you want to support. Use this link to point your donations to Music and Kids: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/82 Then just shop like normal. So long as you're doing it via smile.amazon.com, Amazon will donate 0.5 percent of all eligible purchases to your nonprofit. All prices and products are the same as they would be if you bought them at the usual Amazon address. The only wrinkle is that the Amazon mobile app doesn't currently support this option. So if you shop a lot on your phone, do it in your mobile browser instead. Or, add stuff to your cart in the app, then use the browser to complete the purchase. Either way: easy and free! If you have a lot of transactions in one day, you can set a limit to the amount of rounding done per day to whatever total amount per day is comfortable for you and your budget. You enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you give a little every time you spend to support our mission and work. Music and Kids is working to fund scholarships for students in Southern California so they can have weekly, one-on-one, afterschool music lessons with a paid, qualified instructor! We have a goal of giving the 68 students currently on our waiting list the gift of a scholarship to our program for 2019. To do this, we need you to donate to Music and Kids this holiday season. Scholarships to fund weekly lessons for 68 students for a full year will cost approximately $140,000. A lofty goal, yes, but with help from all of you (donate, share with friends, encourage others to donate), we should be able to make it! Music and Kids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to bridge the growing gap between government-funded educational programs in music and private funding. Our goal is to enroll 1000 kids in the Antelope Valley of California and beyond in one-on-one, after school music lessons with qualified teachers. Through fundraising and sponsorships by local, regional, and national businesses and foundations, Music and Kids is bringing money into the economy of the Antelope Valley by providing funding for AV teachers to work with talented AV students allowing the students to develop their vocal and instrumental talents, as well as their knowledge of music theory and performance skills. Music and Kids is raising awareness of the need for and benefits of music education through promotional efforts in the community, as well as providing opportunities for people to come together through the love and joy of sharing music. Support from the community, including volunteerism and donations, is always needed to allow Music and Kids to serve more students as our program and our waiting list of student participants continue to grow. |
