![]() In support of Music and Kids, Chuck Murphy & Napynap will be performing at Senior Centers in the Antelope Valley and beyond, with support from student performers from the Music and Kids and Gabriel’s House programs. Your sponsorship of the Music and Kids Senior Center Series will be recognized through marketing and promotional efforts that will bring more attention to your business, and you will be helping Music and Kids continue to provide free music lessons to student with paid, qualified instructors, while bringing joy and entertainment to the members of our community currently residing in or participating in programming at local senior centers. Please choose from the levels below. These students are currently enrolled with Music and Kids and have shown progress and promise in their performance skills. ![]() Family Days at Courson Park are held by the City of Palmdale throughout the summer to bring joy, support, and entertainment to the residents in the neighborhoods surrounding Courson Park. Family Day in Courson Park takes place on the following Sundays in the summer of 2019 from 3 - 5 PM. June 9, June 23, July 14, July 28, August 11, August 25, September 8 and September 22. Celeste Pérez (Music and Kids Student) and Walker Gibson (Education Director for Music and Kids) JJ Schramm was the Joe Walker STEALTH Academy Band director for 19 years, retiring in 2017. Mr. Schramm expected excellence and nothing less. Under his leadership students excelled both musically and personally. Students reached their full potential and it showed in their music and maturity.
This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the legacy that Mr. Schramm created at Joe Walker Middle School. This student possesses kindness, humility, strength both on a personal and musical level while striving for excellence! Congratulations, Celeste! Ellie Aguilar has been awarded a scholarship to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy - College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts. This scholarship was based on a merit audition and will allow Ellie to pursue a course of study in Musical Theater. Congratulations, Ellie! Wednesday Lessons at Gabriel’s House with Instructor Matt Macer and students Isabel Ureno, David Ureno, Richardo Ureno and Gabriel Alba Islas. Do you believe there is a need to fill the growing gap between government funding for programs at our public schools and the need for music education? Do you feel strongly that music education is important for young people? Do you want to do something to help?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, you should consider becoming a Member of Music and Kids! What does Membership mean? It means pledging your support to Music and Kids at a level you can afford on a monthly basis. Members will receive a Music and Kids t-shirt and a special members-only monthly e-newsletter with notes and videos from the students whose dreams you are funding. If you own a business, you can also have your business logo added to our promotional materials (website, event banners, event programs, etc.). How does Membership help Music and Kids? Having consistent pledges of support allows Music and Kids to provide sustainable and stable programming to our enrollees, which is vital to the health of a nonprofit organization like ours. One month of lessons for a Music and Kids enrollee (four weekly lessons) costs $210 ($2,500 per year). You can choose to sponsor a student by pledging $210 per month. However, if $210 per month is above your budget, smaller membership levels can be added together to provide additional sponsorships. Membership Levels: Membership Level – 10: $10 per month Membership Level – 25: $25 per month Membership Level – 50: $50 per month Membership Level – 100: $100 per month Membership Level – Full Student: $210 per month Membership Level – Other: Any amount per month that works for you!
How is this done?
PayPal Subscription – You can set your PayPal account to automatically transfer your monthly donation to Music and Kids. You need to have a PayPal account to use this method. You can cancel your subscription through PayPal at any time, if you decide you no longer want to donate. Direct Donation – Contact Chuck Murphy, Board President, CEO and Founder of Music and Kids by email cmurphy@musicandkids.org or call (661) 435-3153 to set up your monthly pledge by invoice. Music and Kids would like to thank all of the local organizations and small businesses that have supported our programs and events with generous donations. We have found that the majority of our donations and sponsorships come from local organizations and small businesses, rather than the larger corporations with a presence in our community. We ask that you consider this when you are making your own charitable contributions and shopping decisions.
